A key project on Tasman Council’s priority list will proceed if the Nationals are returned to Government, Tasmanian Nationals Senator Steve Martin has announced.
Senator Martin delivered the good news in the company of Tasman Mayor Kelly Spaulding in Nubeena on Thursday.
“The Nationals in Government will commit $1 million for the upgrade of the Nubeena Clubrooms, additional showers and toilet facilities for both sport, recreation and as designated evacuation centre. Lighting and irrigation upgrade of associated outdoor sporting fields,” Senator Martin said..
“I congratulate Mayor Kelly Spaulding and her team for the compelling case they put to me and I am glad that Deputy Prime Minister and Nationals Leader Michael McCormack has agreed to commit the funding,” Senator Martin said.
“As this is an election commitment, it is contingent on the re-election of the Liberals and Nationals Government.”
“This is another example of the Nationals putting locals first and I ask locals to put the Nationals first on their Senate ballot paper on Saturday.”
“It is all about our agenda to get a fair share for regional Tasmania and help build stronger local communities.”
