A key project on the Cradle Coast Authority’s priority list will become a reality thanks to $4m in grants from the Nationals in Government, Tasmanian Nationals Senator Steve Martin has announced.
The money will be used to construct modern wash down and effluent dumping facilities at King Island, Smithton, Devonport and Burnie for livestock and other vehicles for improved bio security and animal welfare outcomes.
“I met with the Cradle Coast Authority and listened to their needs and I advised that I would go and fight for them in Canberra. It is great news that Deputy Prime Minister and Nationals Leader Michael McCormack has agreed to release the money.”
“It is all about my agenda to get a fair share for regional Tasmania and help build stronger local communities.”
