Grenoch Home in Deloraine is set to undergo a major upgrade following its success in securing a $497,696 grant from the Liberals and Nationals Government in Canberra, Tasmanian Nationals Senator Steve Martin announced at the facility on Thursday.
“This is what getting a fair share for regional Tasmania looks like - it is all about pushing for more money from Canberra and Hobart for towns like Deloraine, which also recently won federal funds to help build two new netball courts,” Senator Martin said.
“I have been lobbying for funding under the Liberal and Nationals Government’s new $40 million Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants scheme ever since it was first announced last September.”
“There are nearly 3000 aged care facilities across Australia, so it is a big deal for Deloraine to get nearly half a million dollars from a total of $40 million.”
Aged Care Deloraine CEO Charlie Emmerton said the money would help make the facility even more attractive for residents and their families.
“We will be building a new laundry and completely renovating the kitchen, which will create a new dining experience,” Mr Emmerton said.
The 47-bed Grenoch Nursing Home for Aged Care Deloraine offers residential aged care and respite care with a registered nurse on duty 24/7.
Amenities include couple accommodation, air conditioners and private bathroom in every room and a hairdressing salon. The home is set amongst beautiful gardens, with magnificent views over the Western Tiers, offering residents a homely feel.
